I Want to Live in a Library...

I've been on a book-themed things that aren't books kick lately.

I love reading and I love fashion... why not put those two things together?

Urbanoutfitters.com

For Valentine's day this year James got me this laptop case from UO, which is probably my favorite thing ever... I have a Netbook so it takes up half of the space, and in the other half I can put other things I want to carry with me.
Urbanoutfitters.com

I am currently OBSESSED with this Storybook Wallet from UO too, but its $45 and looks like it could be cheaply made and it doesn't have the space for a checkbook (grandma status right here). That being said, I might have to buy it anyway. UNLESS this beauty gets restocked!

Modcloth.com
This Definition of Darling Wallet makes me want to pee myself. It is so perfect and so out of stock. I signed up for the waiting list, and as soon as this bad boy is available I am getting it!

Even though I'm more interested in a wallet because my clutches need to be strapped to me or I will leave them somewhere, I couldn't help but love these adorable book-inspired clutches...
KateSpade.com
Kate Spade makes these "Book of the Month" Clutches, totally lifelike! They almost look a little too real for my taste, almost. At over $300, I certainly wont be getting one, but I think they are too cute!
US.Asos.com

This Book Clutch from Asos is also totally adorable, I love the soft color. Its also currently on sale for $20.71, which is pretty rad.
US.Asos.com

And finally, this Keyhole Book Clutch might be the most adorable clutch I have ever seen. Its actually box shaped and completely amazing if you think you can carry that around for hours. I bet it would be a great conversation starter.

Hope you enjoyed!!

Walmart Mini Haul

Well, I went on my Walmart shopping trip and came back with a mini-haul. Quite mini actually, most things were travel sized...
Yes to Cucumbers Daily Calming Moisturizer
Yestocarrots.com

St. Ives Green Tea Scrub
Walmart.com

Hard Candy Mini Must Have (Glow All the Way- Skin Luminizer/  Fat Pout  Lip Gloss/ Blush Crush- Baked Blush/ Sheer Envy Primer)
Hardcandy.com

Physicians Formula Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio for Blue Eyes
Physiciansformula.com
1. Yes to Cucumbers Daily Calming Moisturizer ($15)- I like this, but I do not love it. The lotion comes out looking a little like cottage cheese, and I can't tell if that's because its a natural product or if its old. It doesn't smell weird so I think it might just be it's normal consistency. Its a little tough to rub in, but that can be expected with a higher SPF (its SPF 30). I have been mixing it with a little dab of another kind of lotion to get it to rub in fully. It also leaves my face feeling like it has something on it. All in all its okay, I'm going to keep it, but its not my favorite.

2. St. Ives Green Tea Scrub ($1)- I only bought the travel sized version because I have other facial wash at home (also St. Ives), I love this though! The texture is amazing, the gritty pieces are small, but there are enough of them that they are super effective. I love St. Ives products in general, and this one did not disappoint.

3. Hard Candy Mini Must Have ($8)- I like the sample sized option because I was thinking about buying some of these items, but I wasn't sure if I'd like them. Glow All the Way is great. It goes on as sheer or opaque as you want it depending on how you apply. It is a great highlighter for brows and cheek bones. Definite yes! Fat Pout Lip Gloss this is okay, it doesn't sting the lips the way Lip Venom does so that is a plus, and its not very sticky. However, if left my lips feeling dry and yucky afterward. I would prefer something a little more natural for my lips. Blush Crush- This wasn't what I expected. I was scared by the BRIGHT pink color, but it goes on pretty and subtle (it could be more wild if you wanted). The color is nice, but not the most natural color; that being said it was flattering on my face, so no complaints there! Sheer Envy- I like this primer, it did exactly what it was supposed to do. It held my makeup for hours and looked great! One thing: the day after buying it I went to use some and it had separated a little, there was more liquid than before. It had only been sitting in my bathroom, which stays cool for the majority of the day unless someone is showering. However, it still worked well.

4. Physicians Formula Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio for Blue Eyes ($9)- I am in love with these! There is a black, brown and almost navy color which is such a great deal! The stick slide on well, except the brown which takes a few swipes before the color is bold. They are great for lining your water line too. The first time I lined mine my water line my eyes did get a little red and irritated, but that's not a big surprise because I have sensitive eyes.

With all the products on:

With wet hair...
I used all three colors on my eyes, with blue and brown on the lash line.

With dry hair...

Cheap and Adorable

As an homage to my possible impending broke-ness. I thought I'd post some fashion deals and steals...
Forever21.com
I love this maxi skirt, especially in the "teal" and "dark gray" colors. It could be super cute for summer to go out in at night with a simple tank and some sandals, and could transition into fall with some opaque black tights, boots and a slim-fitting sweater on top. For only $12.50!

Forever21.com
And how adorable is this little dress? Again, you could wear this now or transition it into chillier temps with shrunken cardigan and tights. Only $14.50!
Target.com
Geez Louise, I am in love with this sweater! I can see myself pairing it with jeans or even yoga pants (gasp!) on a weekend or even throwing it on with a collared shirt and some dress pants to create a slightly ironic work look. This beauty is only $22.99, and its 100% cotton!

Random Money Thoughts

Money money moneyy!

Yesterday I counted out our spare change to change it out for laundry money. I felt a little like Scrooge McDuck with all of the coins on my floor.

I still am unsure of where I'm going to work starting August 6th, but that hasn't stopped my passion for online shopping. Hopefully I am not going to spend all of my money before something new comes along! I signed up for the Julep Maven Box and used the promo code "PENNY" so it was literally 1 cent. Can't beat that, right? Now the question is will I cancel after my first box or will I continue on and pay $20 a month for the boxes? All depends on if I have the money, I guess. I hate uncertainty!

It Girl Maven Subscription
These are the colors I'm getting!
Thinking about it, I have been really thrifty lately. James and I got a Sam's Club card a week ago, and I already have purchased two pairs of random Steve Madden shoes that cost only $15 a piece. A blush colored pair of flat sandals (below) and a pair of patent black flats.

These were only $15!!
I also have done multiple data collections were I've given finger prints and had my picture taken, I got around $40 for each collection. That is the beauty of having a boyfriend who works in the bio-metrics department of a university. Because of these collections I have $30 in Walmart gift cards and $25 in prepaid debit cards. WOOHOO!!! Cheapo shopping spree tonight!

I'm going to call my potential employers and see whats up either this afternoon or tomorrow, I just hate rejection and the thought of having to keep looking for a job so much! EW! Send me some good vibes!!

Stress!

So I have a job currently (and work weird hours), but my job will end the second week of August, which is in two weeks. I had an interview on the 11th that seemed really promising, but I haven't heard anything back from them. So back to the job hunt I guess!

In these stressful times I try to channel my energy into something like exercise, even though all I want to do is eat ice cream. I'm trying to lose a good deal of weight, 20-30 lbs, and so the last thing I want is to get bored.

My latest favorite, other than running, is Jillian Michaels:Yoga Meltdown. The routine is fun and is actually challenging. I feel like I've done something. I also really like the BeFit channel on Youtube because it has a bunch of variety.

Have fun de-stressing!

Weird, Weird Morning

Well, its only 1pm and i'm already drained. Its probably a combination of things. 1- its Kid's Day downtown where I work and there are kinds EVERYWHERE. 2- Its a dreary, sad day. 3- I just saw my ex-best friend  and her array of her children and other people's kids... I haven't seen or spoken to her in a year. I also had a mocha so I'm on a sugar/ caffeine high. Small towns are the worst.

It may be dreary, but at least it green again!
Today when I was getting dressed I was more interested in the details of my outfit then the actual outfit itself. I'm wearing a dark navy dress that I got at H&M four years ago on sale. Its cute, but unimpressive and not really summer appropriate (I work in air conditioning). I decided to pair some unexpected pieces with this otherwise boring dress.

Watch: Target (men's section)/ Ring: Thrifted

Dress: H&M/ Belt: Gifted (Boutique in Providence, RI)
I like the look of the row of buttons on the front of the dress, but its too flowy to be worn with flats (like I am) and not belted.

Maybe I should do some actual work online shopping!

Today is My Monday...

Well, I had two days off in a row (Wednesday and Thursday) and it was awesome. Now I have 24 hours of work over the next three day to look forward to, and I still haven't heard back from the interview I had on Wednesday the 11th. OKAY, enough whining.

So I saw The Amazing Spider Man on Wednesday, and I loved it! Andrew Garfield has had my heart ever since I saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. He's a cutie, but his Peter Parker reminded me a little too much of my high school sweetheart, Chase. Skateboarding, always wearing Nikes, always carrying a camera (Chase's was a video camera), adorably unkempt... It made me gag, BUT I still love Garfield. Tangent much?

I loved the way they styled Gwen in the movie, Emma Stone could wear a sack and still look adorable, but she was especially preppy chic, which is my favorite look for other people... I just don't seem to pull it off myself.

Urban Outfitters has the perfect Gwen Stacey knee-socks... They would be perfect for fall :).

urbanoutfitters.com
And they also have drool-worthy Gwen-esque Frye Boots.

Can you say "yum"?

Something tells me this might be a two post kind of day...

Longing for Fall...

By this time of the year I am pining for autumn weather ( I have to note that in WV we almost never had a true autumn, its goes from summer to winter)... I have already made a list of the things I want to buy to get me through the fall in style.

I am waiting on hearing back from a job that I interviewed for last Wednesday, which will let me know whether or not I should buy such decadent things, or if I will even need them.

Here is my tentative list:

Aldoshoes.com
Amazon.com

Piperlime.com

Victoriassecret.com

From top to bottom those are a handbag from Aldo. I love the color of the bag itself and the accent color is so much fun! I have one all leather bag in my wardrobe and though I love it, it weighs about 10 pounds when empty! So I opt for lighter bags that don't give me back problems. I might not be purchasing a bag this year because I have accumulated so many in the past few years that are still in awesome shape.

This wallet is a Hobo Lauren Vintage wallet that I found on Amazon. I love Hobo wallets, they make me drool. I had a knock-off from Target and used it until the faux leather was falling of the frame.

These boots could not be more perfect. I have just recently started liking lace-ups again, and the heel height is awesome. I walk everywhere so I need something comfortable, and my boyfriend is only a few inches taller than me so it is easy for me to tower over him in heels. I love to pair boots with everything. I have worked in an office for the last two and a half years and have managed to wear a pair of cowboy boots religiously.

Last, this tunic from VS is divine. My ears (or eyes) perk up at the mention of something being "multi-way"... This can be worn four ways: on the shoulder, off the shoulder, hooded or cowl-neck. Simply amazing.

I'm sure I will have more fall wardrobe musing to come... even though it is 90 degrees outside.

What I wish I was doing today....

What I wish I was doing right now.
In reality I am sitting at work right now completing my 24 hours of work spread over 72 hours. Today is the best day (only four hours)... BUT if I had it my way I would be sipping my very own creation of grapefruit mimosas, which I politely pictured above.

How does one make a grapefruit mimosa? Its so easy! To make the one pictured above I used 8-10oz of Bellatore Spumante Sparkling Wine and 2oz grapefruit juice from a container of Del Monte grapefruit pieces in lightly sweetened juice, and I finished by floating a few pieces of grapefruit on the top. Initially the grapefruit juice was just to cut the sweetness of the wine, but then this amazing concoction was born. If I were to do it again I might use Prosecco instead.

However, I am not sipping drinks... I'm working. Only 3 1/2 more hours though.

My view from my seat at work.
Have a beautiful Sunday!

Today is Colorful

Today is a colorful day...

This summer my days off are Wednesday and Thursday and then I work 24 hours over Friday, Saturday and Sunday... so to cheer me up on this rainy, 10 hour work day Friday I decided to wear all the color I could... as seen by my creepy, disembodied hand picture. I'm also wearing a pink skirt, but I couldn't stray too far from my black, brown, gray, oatmeal colored love so I'm wearing a black shirt and black and brown flats.

What Makes Me Tick

Clockwise from left: Egyptian Magic/ La Croix Grapefruit/ Flaxseed Oil/ Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava/ Burt's Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm

It takes a village to keep me a sane individual, but these items make it easier for me:
Egyptian Magic: This stuff is amazing! Its all natural and totally works. Its great for your body, face, lips, hair, etc. I keep it on hand for whenever my skin gets dry or cracked. I am a sucker for multi-purpose items.
La Croix: You can find this at any grocery store. I love sparkling water because unlike sodas, it doesn't add unnecessary calories to your diet, but still tastes great. My personal favorites are grapefruit (shown) and lemon. The only flavor I've tried that I didn't like was coconut.
Flaxseed Oil: This is also easily found at any grocery store. Its great for your hair and nails, and is also said to help with weight loss.
Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Solid Perfume: I feel like perfume sprays always go away so quickly after I apply them. I love this stuff because it leaves a subtle scent that lasts all day long. The little tin is so tiny that you can carry it with you and reapply as needed.
Burt's Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm: I hate normal Chapstick and lip balms of that nature because I feel like my lips get more dry from using them. I go for natural lip balms that keep my lips smooth and hydrated. Burt's Bees is a must, and the ultra conditioning formula does a great job of actually moisturizing.
